Cybersecurity Transition Case Study

Trent has served in the Navy, Navy Reserves, National Guard, and Army ROTC. Upon degree completion at
Indiana University he was commissioned as an Army Officer serving in a Military Intelligence branch detailed to Artillery. He served 40 months in combat and is 100% disabled. He successfully graduated from a similar cybersecurity training that allowed him to land his dream job as an ISSO.

1. How do I know if this program or cybersecurity is right for me?

Start with JumpStart, our free introductory training. It helps you explore cybersecurity and determine if this career path is a good fit. Once you pass JumpStart, you can enter our 17-week Partnering College Tuition-Paid Program for full cybersecurity training. Simply click “Get Started” on our website to create your profile and begin training.

2. Do I need prior cybersecurity experience from the military?

No cybersecurity experience is required. Our program is open to all transitioning service members and veterans, regardless of your MOS, AFSC, NEC, Rating, or military specialty. Our expert coaches help you translate your military experience into cybersecurity-relevant skills, even if your previous role wasn’t technical. Our world-class instructors, with 20+ years of industry experience, guide you through the complexities of cybersecurity step by step.

3. Will I receive any certification upon completion?

Yes, you will receive a CompTIA certification voucher to help you secure your first cybersecurity job. Most learners receive a Security+ voucher, or a CySA+ voucher if they already have Security+. If you’ve already earned these, let us know which CompTIA certification voucher best fits your career goals.

4. What is a job readiness program or apprentice-style job training?

Our program is built around hands-on, real-world experience. You’ll work on live projects that simulate real corporate environments, using industry tools and workflows. Your instructor takes the role of a hiring manager, while you train as an employee, completing tasks that directly apply to enterprise networks. We also help you translate these experiences into your resume and prepare for interviews by clearly articulating how your training applies to real job roles.
